What should it cost?

How to use this calculator
  1. Pick Kitchen for food or Bar for drinks using the switch at the top.
  2. Type a name for the dish or drink (optional — it appears in the copied summary).
  3. Kitchen: list what each ingredient costs, add or remove lines, and enter how many portions the recipe makes.
  4. Bar: enter what the bottle costs, its size, how much you pour, and the cost of mixers or garnish.
  5. Set your target cost %. This is how much of the menu price goes to ingredients — lower means more profit. Common starting points are 30% for food and 20% for drinks.
  6. The menu price on the right updates as you type. It is rounded up to the next 25 cents.
  7. Tap Copy summary to paste the results into a note, message, or spreadsheet.
  8. Made a mess? The reset button puts the current mode back to its sample numbers without touching the other mode.
